I knew I had a upcoming shoot with writer Emily Koon, but wasn't sure exactly what to do with it. While making crafts for my daughter's first birthday party, a idea hit me. Why make things out of a novel? I started with the paper flower headpiece, that grew to the skirt, then the top. The result was one dress (with accessories) made from a Reader's Digest condensed novel. It became a crafty obsession of mine for the past few months. I could almost visualize Tim Gunn hovering over me. Emily wore it well, channeling a little Clara Bow, and was a dream to photograph.
