September 24, 2010: Summer's End

Fall has officially started but I am not ready to say goodbye to Summer yet. The heat, definitely, but the feeling of new beginnings and growth, no. Autumn is starting to tap on my shoulder and winter isn't too far behind. Time to grasp on to those final days of warmth and green before it sleeps for awhile. There was one more beach trip to squeeze in. It was sunrise before the masses came out. The water was warm as we walked out together. "Does it make you feel better than I am getting soaked too?", I asked. She said, "Yes".



August 22, 2010: Sunrise On Lake Norman

I consider myself a light snob. I only like three kinds of light; sunrise, sunset or overcast. The problem with sunrise is just how early you have to rise, but boy is it worth it. This is my second sunrise shoot this month and it is becoming my favorite time of day. As I was driving on location (with the Tin Hat Trio playing as my soundtrack), I watched darkness turn into a muted haze. By the time I reached the lake the sun was low and beautiful across the water. Two beautiful little girls greeted me with excitement and the shoot began...





August 11, 2010: Earth & Water

This past weekend I was able to mix business with pleasure by doing a client shoot while visiting Georgia. In our initial emails her response was, "I don't know what to wear, I am usually in tie dye and 4 shades of mud." Bingo.
