May 9, 2011: Survive and Bloom

Some clients touch your heart and stay with you long after the shutter goes off. That was Sheila; a spunky, cowboy boot wearing woman, full of life. In her first email to me her words were, "I am loving life and my scars".

Sheila is a cancer survivor, but she doesn't let that define her and it never scared her. She was completely comfortable and open during our shoot. She braved cold stream waters, mud and double stick tape on her chest and back. She felt right at home during the shoot, having grown up exploring wooded areas as a child in her red cowgirl boots.

When asked about her cancer, she replies confidently, "I grew up praying for breasts nightly...they never came. Finally, I had a chance to have HUGE breasts paid for by insurance but opted for tiny ones and I think they are fabulous!"

Sheila, thank you for your honesty and openness during our shoot. You are an inspiration.
